PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Head of Data & Systems is responsible for the company’s data architecture, analytics, internal business systems, and internal engineering functions. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role ensures the company operates on accurate data, and reliable technology platforms that support a growing staffing business.
In a services-driven organization, data accuracy, operational systems, and internal tools are mission-critical. This role brings those functions together under a single owner to enable scalable delivery, strong financial controls, and informed executive decision-making.
FUNCTIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Data & Analytics Ownership
Own the company’s data architecture, including source systems, pipelines, data warehouses, data sources, integrations and reporting layers
Establish and enforce data governance with a focus on financial and operational accuracy.
Ensures authoritative business metric accuracy (in a form of reports and dashboards) for:
Revenue, gross margin, and operational efficiency across business units, accounts and headcounts
Headcount, capacity, and delivery performance
Sales pipeline (incl. forecast) and client performance
Recruiting performance, including time-to-fill, placement rates, funnel conversion, and hiring velocity
HR and people metrics, including retention, attrition, tenure, engagement, and performance trends
Oversee analytics delivery for executive reporting, forecasting, and operational insights
Ensure leadership can rely on a single source of truth
Lead system integrations across multiple systems and data sources to ensure clean data flow across the organization
Identify and implement AI-driven automation of manual, error-prone processes across recruiting, sales, finance and delivery operations.
Make build vs. buy decisions aligned with scale, cost, and operational complexity
Act as accountable owner for system reliability and data integrity.
Leadership, Finance, and Operations trust the numbers and systems they rely on
Staffing, billing, and delivery workflows are efficient and scalable
Reporting cycles are faster, clearer, and less manual
Technology is seen as an operational advantage, not a cost center
10+ years of experience across data, systems, engineering, or product roles
Solid experience working with and integrating business tools and systems:
Data warehouses (Azure Data Lake or equivalent)
ETL/ELT pipelines (Azure Data Factory or equivalent)
BI Platforms (PowerBI, Zoho, Looker, Tableau)
CRM (HubSpot),
Financial systems (QuickBooks)
Talent management (ICIMS)
Strong understanding of Operational and financial analytics
Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
Strong communication skills with executive and non-technical stakeholders
Experience in staffing, professional services, or labor-based businesses
Experience scaling internal platforms in a mid-size company (300–1,000 employees)
